The "The Wall Street Journal" reported, citing high-ranking officials of Hamas and Hezbollah, that Iran was the initiator of the attack on Israel. According to the newspaper's report, the plan had been developed over several months, and the decision was made in Beirut last week. Hamas spokesperson Ghazi Hamad also told BBC on Sunday that Iran provided support to Palestinian militants in carrying out the attack.

Tehran categorically denies these allegations. The Iranian mission to the UN has stated that they have nothing to do with the attack on Israel on October 7. - The decisive measures taken by Palestine are fully justified defense against seven decades of oppressive occupation and heinous crimes committed by the illegal Zionist regime - stated the Iranian side, while confirming its support for Palestine.

Attack from three sides?

Tehran has threatened that in the event of any Israeli aggression on its territory, it will retaliate against Israel from three countries: Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. Additionally, Iranian militias from Syria would also allegedly be used - reports Shafaq News, discussing the "WSJ" report.

- At this moment, we have nothing indicating that Iran was directly involved in this attack, its planning or conducting. But we are looking at this very closely and we need to see where the facts will lead us - answered Secretary of State USA Antony Blinken to the question from journalists.
