Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claims that Tehran did not communicate with the USA before last night's Iranian missile attack on Israel but warns against intervention in response, Reuters reports, citing the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

However, in a post on the X platform, Minister Aragczi stated that the attack was self-defense and marked the end of Iran's actions unless Israel takes steps that "invite further retaliation."

Iranian attack on Israel

On Tuesday, Iran attacked Israel with about 200 rockets, most of which were shot down by Israel's air defense systems; no casualties were reported. However, the Iranian Tasnim agency claims that "90 percent of the projectiles fired hit their targets." According to reports, US forces participated in Israel's defense.

Aragczi stated that Iran had warned the United States through the Swiss embassy in Tehran. He assured that conveying the information "does not mean coordination" of actions with the USA. He added that Iran had previously shown "enormous restraint" to give room to work out a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

-I am optimistic about future days. There is a possibility of conflict but our forces are fully prepared. We expect to gradually witness stability in our region over the coming days, - said the Iranian minister to state television.

The American portal Axios reported on Wednesday morning, citing Israeli officials, that Israel will take "significant retaliation" within a few days, which may target Iranian refineries and other strategic facilities.
