Inside Britney's battle: Pop icon opens up about struggles with strict diet control
Britney Spears has revealed in her autobiography "The Woman In Me" that her father had imposed a strict diet plan on her for two years, and she was not allowed to eat what she desired.
The premiere of Britney Spears' autobiography took place on October 24, where the pop star shared many intimate stories from her life. Among them, she discusses her relationship with food during her father's guardianship. According to her, the diet plan included only chicken paired with canned vegetables. The regimen was so tight that there were instances where she had to plead with her ushers to allow her a hamburger. Her father, however, was inflexible about the restrictions.
The decision for Spears' father to supervise her diet was based on concerns about the artist's weight. According to him, Britney appeared overweight. Thus, Jamie Spears supervised the food his daughter was consuming to prevent overeating and intake of processed and fast food.
