49-year-old Skye Taylor admitted in an interview with Daily Mail Travel that problematic passengers are becoming more common on airplanes. According to her, the worst passengers nowadays are not big celebrities or Hollywood stars but influencers. They cause the most trouble for flight crews, especially on routes to big cities known for their party atmosphere and nightlife. Taylor emphasizes that the problem particularly intensifies when alcohol is involved.
Problems for flight attendants
"The main problems lie in the routes like Dubai and Vegas where you get the influencer type that maybe hasn't paid full price. They could be quite difficult. I think if you're looking at superstars and people who can afford their tickets, they generally were lovely people and very respectful," Taylor admitted in an interview with Daily Mail Travel.
The flight attendant points out that she has often seen changes in passenger behavior. "It's very common for people in LA to take sleeping tablets, things like Valium, and then they would get on board and drink. And that changes people's characters. I think you just have to be vigilant with watching how things are going to change people's behaviour," she added.
Working in the skies
Skye Taylor admits that it's not only influencers who pose a challenge to the cabin crew. The crew must also be prepared to assist in emergencies, such as the need to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Taylor emphasizes that the key is to stay calm and control the situation, which is quite a challenge.
