Influencer Jaelynn Chaney recently started a campaign aimed at making travel a bit more comfortable for plus size individuals. The young internet star has demanded that passengers with excess weight be provided additional seats, larger toilets, and seat belt extenders.
As people traveling in plus size, my partner and I unfortunately experienced discrimination and discomfort during the flight - she wrote in her petition.
Jaelynn claims that she and her partner regularly experience discrimination and discomfort during flights, therefore, through social media, she encourages everyone to sign a petition that relates not only to travelers of large sizes, but also all passengers who deserve a comfortable journey. However, airplanes are not everything and apparently, the influencer wants to revolutionize the entire tourism industry. Her next target are... hotels.
The influencer wants changes in hotels to help plus size guests
Jaelynn Chaney asserts that her goal is to make the tourism industry a more accepting place for everyone, and in her video published on TikTok, she has presented numerous demands she is making to hotels around the world.
Jaelynn wants hotels to provide spacious elevators and corridors that will enable easy movement for plus-size individuals. She also proposes that hotels raise toilet seats and equip each room with hand-held shower heads, so that people with larger body sizes can easily use bathrooms. In her appeal, she mentioned stronger beds, bathrobes in sizes up to 6 XL, and towels for plus-size guests.
Of course, her video has caused chaos in comments section. Among internet users, a division has become apparent between people enthralled by the idea, and those outraged by the demands Jaelynn made. There were also people who calmly evaluated the revolutionary ideas of the influencer.
I agree with some, but others are just impossible. The amount of money needed to implement all these changes is unrealistic — commented a netizen.
And what do you think of the idea? Is it right?
