Inflation, immigration, improvisation: The rise of Trump 2.0
The Italian journalist and writer Beppe Severgnini expressed in a conversation with PAP that Donald Trump's success in the U.S. presidential election is a result of Americans' "anger" and "three I's": inflation, immigration, and the improvisation of Trump's rival, Kamala Harris.

Severgnini, a commentator for many Italian and international media outlets and also a bestselling author, believes that Kamala Harris's improvisation is due to her not having enough time to properly prepare her election campaign since President Joe Biden took too long to decide not to run for a second term.
Americans regrettably chose Trump, and it seems they specifically sought a leader with authoritarian traits. He openly declared his intention to deport 20 million people, noted the prominent writer and journalist from Corriere della Sera, pointing to Trump's campaign commitment to mass deportation of undocumented immigrants.
In his opinion, one must also hope that Trump, during his term, "does not do what he promised" during the campaign.
Fed chair won't resign
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell announced that he would not agree to leave his position prematurely if the new U.S. President Donald Trump tries to remove him from office, Reuters reports.
Reuters recalls that during his first term in the White House, Donald Trump frequently attacked the Fed and its chairman for the actions of the U.S. central bank.
Highlighted on Thursday was the Fed's decision to cut interest rates by 25 basis points to a range of 4.50-4.75 percent. The Fed stated that the risks to achieving its objectives are moving towards balance.
