Just one look is enough to make you immediately hungry. A layer of melted chocolate bar instantly catches the eye. Suffice it to say that resisting such a tantalizing treat is almost impossible. And since the cake is made with bananas and dark chocolate, it's not one of the most calorie-dense pastries around. This means you can indulge in such a culinary extravagance from time to time.

A homemade cake with a chocolate twist could become your favorite dessert

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of sugar,
  • 5 tablespoons of oil,
  • 2 bananas,
  • 2 eggs,
  • 1 cup of wheat flour,
  • 5 teaspoons of cocoa,
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda,
  • 1 pinch of salt,
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract,
  • 1/3 cup of milk,
  • 1 bar of dark chocolate.

Instructions:

Step 1. Begin the recipe by preparing the bananas. First, peel them, then mash them with a fork. Afterwards, add the bananas to a bowl along with the eggs, cocoa, and oil.

Step 2. Next, to the same bowl, add the baking powder, baking soda, vanilla extract, milk, sugar, flour, and a pinch of salt.

Step 3. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with a kitchen whisk. After obtaining a homogenous mixture, transfer it to a baking pan lined with parchment paper. In this case, I'm using a loaf pan

Place the pan into a preheated oven for about 35 minutes. During this time, set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

Step 4. After the cake is removed from the oven, arrange a bar of dark chocolate on top. Then, return the cake to the oven for an additional 10 minutes

Step 5. I recommend serving the finished cake while it's still warm, which allows the chocolate to remain slightly melted. There you have it, enjoy your meal!
