While on a diet, it might be a good idea to reduce the usage of honey. Add xylitol, a touch more cinnamon, or even 2-3 dried figs to the hot drink to enhance its sweetness if you have a sweet tooth. Feel free to experiment with additives like ginger, anise, nuts or almond flakes, dried plums, apricots, cranberries and raisins. As for substitutes, try replacing apple with peach, or orange with tangerine.

Ingredients:

  • 4.23 cups of water,
  • 1.1 lbs of frozen cherries,
  • 1 apple,
  • 1 orange,
  • 2 sticks of cinnamon,
  • 4 cloves,
  • 3-4 tablespoons of honey.

Preparation:

  1. Pour the water into a pot, then add the apple cut into quarters, cherries, cinnamon, and cloves. Boil everything together.
  2. Add orange slices to the warm drink. Let it cool off a bit before removing it from the heat. After that you can add honey.
  3. Serve your warm beverage with whole cherries, cloves, and orange slices for a professional touch.
