Ill health forces King Charles to include lunchtime snack

King Charles III, due to illness, had to comply with doctors' recommendations. They pointed out the need to change a dietary habit he had practiced for years. The aristocrat reluctantly agreed to it. What does he eat now?

The 75-year-old King Charles III was known for avoiding eating at lunchtime. Unless his duties required, he preferred sitting at the table only for dinner. Chefs often (but not always) served him vegan cuisine dishes on these occasions. The reason for this choice was his concern for ecology.

Due to illness, he had to change these habits. As reported by "Daily Mail," the monarch, who is now dealing with cancer, now finds time for a meal during the day. However, it is not a feast worthy of a king but a modest nutritious snack limited to a single vegetable.

With some reluctance, he now has something to eat at lunchtime – a snack, really. He now eats half an avocado to sustain him through the day. It's important, particularly if you have got an illness', reports the tabloid.

King Charles III is not a strict vegetarian. He allows himself a meat-based dinner twice a week, with a strong preference for lamb. He avoids dairy. The monarch places considerable emphasis on the origin of the products he consumes.

He trusts dishes made from animals and plants raised on royal estates. Like the late Elizabeth II, he savors the strawberries from Balmoral.

His favorite ingredients also include wild mushrooms from the local forests, which he has frozen so he can enjoy them throughout the year sautéed with herbs. He starts his morning with an egg boiled for precisely seven minutes.

As revealed by his former chefs, Darren McGrady and Carolyn Webb, Prince William's father's diet doesn't lack honey, muesli, and dried fruits.

He'd have homemade bread, a bowl of fresh fruit, fresh fruit juices, they told "Marie Claire."

Earlier this year, King Charles III announced that he was battling cancer. The details of the illness are not known. It is only known that the Windsor family patriarch has undergone chemotherapy and is currently regaining his strength.
