Iga Swiatek was not amused. "Don't try this today"

A year ago, during Halloween, Iga Swiatek was genuinely frightened by one of her tennis rivals. On Tuesday, she reminded everyone of this event and sent a message to her opponent.

A video that went viral on the internet last year showed Iga Swiatek being interviewed when Ons Jabeur, dressed as the Grim Reaper, popped out from behind her. Jabeur decided to spook the Polish player during Halloween and successfully did so, as the video clearly displays.

The second-ranked WTA tennis player hasn't entirely forgotten that incident yet. She made this clear by addressing her competitor on social media.

"Don't try this today, Ons Jabeur, please," she posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Jabeur seemed highly amused by the situation, but Iga Swiatek wasn't. The video, however, was received with enthusiasm by fans and quickly shared across social media platforms.

Currently, both tennis players are in Mexico for the final tournament of the 2023 tennis season, the WTA Finals. They're both in the same group and are set to play against each other soon. In the first match, the Polish player defeated Marketa Vondrousova in two sets, while the Tunisian conceded to Coco Gauff, also in two sets.

The top two players from each group will proceed to the semi-finals. Hence, Swiatek is in a comfortable position, while Jabeur has little margin for error if she hopes to make waves in Mexico and compete for the title alongside the world's best players.
