Iga Świątek advanced to the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam Roland Garros in fantastic style, dominating Russia's Anastasia Potapova in just 40 minutes without losing a single game. After the match, she decided to give her wristband to a fan, but it didn't go as planned.

This was the fastest match of Iga Świątek's career on the WTA Tour. Previously, her match against Czech player Karolina Pliskova in the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome in 2021 was noteworthy, ending with a score of 6-0, 6-0 in 46 minutes.

In the fourth round of the Grand Slam Roland Garros, Świątek needed only 40 minutes to secure her victory. She showed absolute dominance against Anastasia Potapova, who not only failed to win a single game but also scored only 10 points.

Spectacularly, the Pole advanced to the tournament's quarterfinals, which she had won in the past two editions. On Tuesday, June 4, at 6:00 PM EST, she will face the fifth-seeded Czech player Marketa Vondrousova, with the semifinal of the 2024 French Open at stake.

During the match against Potapova, Świątek wore her wristband as usual. After the match, she decided to give it to a fan. However, her throw didn't reach far enough. Immediately, she started apologizing for the mishap. In the television broadcast, it was noticeable that later, as compensation, the fan received a towel from her.

The broadcast crew captured Świątek's funny mishap and later circulated on the internet. The official Roland Garros profile posted a heavily edited video on the X platform.

"Oops" - was the caption on the video, along with an emoji.
