Linda Evangelista is suffering. The cryolipolysis procedure turned out to be not so much unsuccessful as truly tragic in its consequences. This beauty icon cannot look at herself.

Linda Evangelista is one of the supermodels of the late 80s and 90s. She appeared on 700 fashion magazine covers, with "Voque" at the forefront. At a time when long, teased hairstyles ruled, she popularized a short cut, which was named "The Linda" in her honor. In 2007, when she turned 42, she retired, but returned to modeling with new contracts in 2013. Unfortunately, she had an increasing problem with weight control, and therefore, soon after, she decided to undergo cryolipolysis.

This is a minimally invasive procedure, which involves freezing fat cells, which break down under the influence of low temperature. Cryolipolysis, to this day, is considered one of the most effective slimming treatments. Unfortunately, Linda began to experience severe side effects. She simply began to swell, because the fat cells instead of disappearing, started to grow. She underwent two more liposuctions, but to no effect.

- I have been disfigured. I fell into paranoia. Eventually, I stopped properly eating when I saw strange growths begin to appear on my chin, thighs, and around my chest - Linda confessed to "People" magazine.

Evangelista had to put on corsets and compressive clothing.

- I can't walk in a regular dress, I will have bloody abrasions. My fat is like sandpaper. I can't even normally arrange my arms along my body. I don't think the designers will want to dress me with this something protruding from my body - complained the model.

She hates mirrors because she doesn't recognize herself. Last year, she sued the company whose services she used and demanded 50 million dollars in compensation. At the same time, she stopped hiding. The pandemic and the associated mandatory mask-wearing gave her a relative sense of comfort. But finally, she spoke publicly for "People" and broke free from shame.

Linda Evangelista is still learning self-acceptance. As she herself says, it's a painful process because in the consciousness of millions worldwide, she remains a hostage of her former beauty. To make matters worse, in recent days, her ex-husband has been accused of raping several underage models. This refers to Gerald Marie, who was her husband between 1987 and 1993. Linda's former husband is accused of, as the head of "Elite Model Management," raping 13 of his wards and additionally selling them to wealthy business partners throughout Europe, where he was known as the Harvey Weinstein of the fashion industry.

Gerald Marie denies all allegations. Linda Evangelista stated that she had no idea about it. However, she underlined that she believes the women who reported to the prosecutor's office.

And this is Linda, as we will always remember her:
