"Popping" bubble wrap is one of the most relaxing activities. It might seem that this is its only use. Nothing could be further from the truth. It can be given a second life by replacing it with cling wrap or using it to wash dishes.

We explain how to use bubble wrap at home. Try one of the tricks below to simplify many daily tasks and reduce unnecessary trash production.

What is bubble wrap made of?

Bubble wrap is made from polyethylene, a multilayered, thin, and flexible material filled with air bubbles that protect the contents of the package from breaking or damage. After unpacking the package, we most often play with it, popping the aforementioned bubbles. It's a very relaxing activity, which soothes frayed nerves. After "popping" the wrap, it ends up in the plastic bin. This is a mistake, as you can use it in several different ways.

Let's start with the kitchen. Rolled into a ball and sprinkled with a few drops of dish soap, it will replace your steel wool, the popular metal sponge used for removing stubborn stains. Bubble wrap is a safer solution, as it will not damage the surface like steel wool. This "sponge" will be useful for cleaning heavily greased surfaces, such as baking sheets or sinks.

Put a piece of bubble wrap in the fridge. This will solve the problem with humidity

In your refrigerator, there's high humidity, and fruits and vegetables stored in the drawer quickly grow mold? We know how to handle this situation. All you need to do is line the bottom of the drawer with bubble wrap, which will absorb the excess moisture. This will help the stored products maintain their firmness for longer, and mold will no longer be a problem. Bubble wrap can be replaced with cling film. You can use it to wrap sandwiches or wrap it around a thermos to protect it from potential leaks.
