Hyundai's futuristic N Vision 74 might hit the road: the decision to release 70 units triggers excitement
The new concept, unveiled by Hyundai in the summer of 2022, instantly garnered admiration among car enthusiasts. The N Vision 74, a tribute to the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe, also drew evident inspiration from 2077. The quintessentially Korean design enthralled fans globally, many of whom were eager to see it on the market.

Hyundai, however, has consistently maintained since its concept was revealed that the N Vision 74 would not enter serial production. The intention was only to construct a few test versions to serve as an experimental platform for hydrogen technology. Unsurprisingly, recent reports from South Korea may suggest a shift in plans.
ETNews.com released startling information on December 17, stating that Hyundai plans to assemble as many as 100 N Vision 74 units. Out of these, 70 are planned for road use, and the remaining 30 units are likely to be modified for prominent motorsport events in North America and Europe.
A key feature of the car is expected to be two electric units on the rear axle, fuelled by hydrogen cells, providing a staggering 497 miles of power; 81 miles more than initially proposed during the concept's introduction in summer 2022.
While we may not see a serial production of this car, the release of 70 units is notable. Racing fans, too, can be delighted with reports of 30 units designated for the track as hydrogen in motorsport continues to gain traction. According to ETNews, production on the final version of the N Vision 74 is expected to commence in the first half of 2026.
In the past, Hyundai has consistently rebuffed any related reports. However, this time, representatives from the Korean manufacturer declined to comment. This could simply be due to fatigue of endlessly addressing the topic or a strategic move to conceal a potential change in the situation. As of now, we can only wait for further updates from Hyundai.
