Hungarian PM orban on EU elections: Peace hinges on Trump victory
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's opinion is that the result of the European Parliament elections aimed to "slow down or stop the drift towards war," and the goal was partially achieved. "If Donald Trump wins against Joe Biden in the U.S. presidential election in November, we will have peace," he added.

On Monday, the Hungarian Prime Minister commented on the results of the European Parliament elections and local elections in Hungary. In both, the ruling Fidesz-KDNP coalition won. The opposition group TISZA, led by Peter Magyar, also achieved a high result despite appearing on the political scene only a few months ago.
"The emergence of the TISZA party has complicated our lives because we had to face two oppositions, the old and the new," commented Viktor Orban in an interview with public television.
The Hungarian Prime Minister assessed that the result of the European Parliament elections aimed to "slow down or stop the drift towards war", and the goal was partially achieved. The politician recalled that the significant victory of the far-right National Rally (RN) in France led to the announcement of parliamentary elections in that country.
"If Donald Trump wins against Joe Biden in the U.S. presidential election in November, we will have peace," added the Hungarian Prime Minister.
Orban had previously repeated that if the right wins the EP elections and Trump becomes the U.S. president, peace in Ukraine is possible this year. However, he did not specify how exactly it would be achieved.
