Hugh Jackman's revealing autobiography tackles personal drama
The actor is working on an autobiography, scheduled for next year. Naturally, he will address his divorce. Does he know what he's facing?
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Hugh Jackman's book will feature many candid revelations about his life, including details of his recent divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness. The couple ended their marriage in September 2023, after 27 years together.
Those close to Jackman are concerned about how he will handle discussing personal topics.
"He's obviously nervous because he always had the option to hide behind his characters or family," a source told "Woman's Day." "He never felt like the tough guy people saw him as and is worried that his inherent 'geekiness' will ruin his image," they added, noting that many of Hugh's close friends are concerned about him.
"Honestly, we've all been a bit worried about him. He was so focused on Deb and the kids, making sure they were taken care of during the divorce, that he lost himself in it all," the source revealed.
Hugh Jackman's divorce
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced their separation in an official statement, filled with typical phrases: "We have been blessed to share almost three decades in a joyful marriage. Our journey is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue individual growth." The couple emphasized that their priority will always be the well-being of their children, whom they want to support fully. As is customary, they also requested privacy.
The divorce didn't result in a complete break in contact between them. Hugh and Deborra remain on friendly terms, and according to a close friend, "both feel much better now and have a supportive, friendly relationship."
The couple met in 1995, and a year later, they married in Melbourne. Hugh was 27 years old at the time, while Deborra was 14 years older. Together, they raised two adopted children: Oscar (24) and Ava (19).
Hugh Jackman's most recent prominent film is, of course, "Deadpool & Wolverine," which was a box office hit this past summer.
