Houthis intensified attacks post October 7
The Houthi movement, operating in Yemen, which is hostile towards Israel and supported by Iran, declared on Tuesday that it had launched missiles at the ship without confirming whether the boat was hit, as reported by the Reuters agency.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced that one of their fighters over the Red Sea intercepted an "airborne hostile target", presumably a drone launched from Yemen. The army asserts that the object was heading in the direction of Israel, as the Times of Israel portal reported.
Last week, American media reported that Iran has been aiding Houthi rebels to pinpoint the commercial vessels they attack in the Red Sea. The Houthis' actions escalated after the Palestinian Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th and the onset of military operation in the Gaza Strip by this nation.
