The rioters had Palestinian flags with them and were chanting "murderous Israel" under the Or Zaruah synagogue - reports The Algemeiner Journal. The protest lasted until the police intervened, who dispersed the crowd. The Spanish portal El Independiente reports that according to the police report, no injuries were reported. An investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the attack on the place of worship.

Melilla is a part of Spanish territory located in North Africa, on the eastern coast of Morocco. The President of Melilla, Juan José Imbroda, called on residents to maintain peace and respect for different religious beliefs.

"Let the peace, we've achieved thanks to the wisdom of all Melilli's residents, prevail," Imbroda said in a television speech. "Let the conflict between Israel and Palestine, no matter how painful, not affect the coexistence of the residents of Melilli," added the city's president.

Since the beginning of the war between Israel and Palestine, which started with a Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7th, acts of violence between Jewish and Muslim communities have occurred in many regions of the world.
