Grout plays a key role in the aesthetics and functionality of our tiled floors and walls. Its job is not only to join the tiles but also to protect the surface from moisture penetration.

Over time, dirt, mold, and deposits accumulate, spoiling the appearance and potentially harboring bacteria and fungi. Fortunately, there is an effective way to remove dirt and restore the grout's shine.

Homemade grout cleaning paste

Baking soda is one of the most effective and versatile ingredients in your kitchen or pantry. It is great for making delicious baked goods and cleaning. How do you use it?

Preparing homemade paste for cleaning grout is simple. Just mix 10 tablespoons of baking soda with a few tablespoons of lukewarm water. The mixture should form a thick paste. It's best to apply it with a toothbrush and gently scrub in circular motions to thoroughly clean all nooks and crannies.

This homemade solution effectively deals with stubborn dirt and mold, even in hard-to-reach places. To be even more effective, you can add a few drops of lemon to the mixture. The fruit not only leaves a fresh scent after cleaning, but its high natural acid content enhances the disinfecting effect.

Another way to keep grout clean

An effective method for cleaning tiles is to use toilet cleaner. Mix half a quart of toilet cleaner with the same amount of water and scrub the grout with a sponge or soft brush.

Toilet cleaning liquid is a strong solution that easily eliminates accumulated bacteria and mold. It can effectively deal with stubborn stains, dissolving them in moments. However, remember to always use protective gloves, as the agent can cause skin burns.
