Dust is a mixture of dead skin cells, hair, pet fur, textile fibers, and sand. Even in the most well-kept homes, dust appears on furniture and equipment, affecting not only aesthetics but also potentially harming health, especially for allergy sufferers.

Although completely eliminating dust is impossible, we can limit its accumulation on surfaces by using effective methods. Before turning to store-bought products, it's worth trying a homemade approach.

This mixture beats store-bought chemicals hands down

To reduce the amount of dust in your home, regularly wash floors, vacuum thoroughly, and systematically clean furniture. There's a way to keep your furniture dust-free for weeks: simply prepare a homemade solution.

You'll need two cups of water, one cup of vinegar, two tablespoons of olive oil, and a little dish soap. Put everything in a spray bottle, mix thoroughly, and then apply it to a microfiber cloth to wipe down the furniture and equipment. Thanks to this method, dust will not return for a long time. To neutralize the vinegar smell, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the mixture.

The fabric softener method

A homemade spray with fabric softener can also tackle dust. This mixture acts as an antistatic agent, reducing the amount of dust on furniture and devices. Remember that fabric softener alone should not be applied directly to furniture. Instead, prepare a solution in a spray bottle by combining boiled water and half a cap of fabric softener.
