I have a huge weakness for homemade baked goods. When I can also prepare a delicious snack I used to enjoy as a child, I am in heaven. This time will be no exception. In just a moment, I will share a beloved family recipe for a brilliant dessert you can make in the blink of an eye with just a few simple ingredients.
My family has adored chocolate-coconut cubes for many years, which hide a fluffy surprise in the form of a delicious cake. My mom is the master of making them. Since she shared the exact recipe with me, I am now sharing it with you. It's simply too valuable not to reach a wider audience. Such sweets are irresistible—they are both delicious and charming at the same time!
Dip the mini cakes in chocolate frosting and coat them in coconut. They will disappear from the table in the blink of an eye
Ingredients:
Cake:
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder
Frosting:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup of milk
Additionally:
- 1 cup of shredded coconut for coating
Instructions:
Step 1. Start the recipe by preparing the cake. First, whip the egg whites with sugar. Then, add egg yolks, sifted flour, and baking powder to the bowl.
Step 2. Pour the mixture into a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Place the filled pan in a preheated oven for 30 minutes, set at 350°F.
Step 3. Meanwhile, prepare the frosting for the cubes. Combine butter, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and milk in a saucepan on the stovetop. Stir the ingredients using a whisk.
Step 4. Cut the baked and cooled cake into smaller pieces—small squares.
Step 5. Dip each piece in the chocolate mixture, then coat it in shredded coconut.
Step 6. And that's it, enjoy!
