Homemade baked chicken nuggets: Healthy comfort food recipe
We've long believed that if you're going to eat nuggets, making them at home is the only way to go. They are healthier than the ones you get from eating out and delight with fantastic flavor. No one has yet been found who doesn't like them. Are you up for the challenge?

We'll say it loud and clear: we love eating nuggets. At the same time, we know that this unpopular opinion among people who value a healthy diet may cause controversy. Does this mean we enjoy that monstrous mixture of mechanically separated poultry meat (MSM) and other suspicious ingredients from American fast-food chains? NO! We prepare nuggets ourselves at home, from real chicken, not chicken tendons, skins, and nails. And, importantly, our nuggets are baked, not fried. Doesn't that sound much better now?
If you also like to eat breaded chicken but don't want to feel guilty about it, we invite you to try the recipe below. This recipe is a real treasure, and we use it very often. We bet you will start doing the same soon!
Baked nuggets in a crunchy coating
Ingredients:
- 1 double chicken breast
- 4 cups of corn flakes
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper
Preparation method:
- Crush the cornflakes (check their ingredients; you don't want them to contain much sugar). You can, for example, put them in a container and crush them with a potato masher.
- Place the milk, flour, egg, and spices in a bowl and mix. Cut the chicken into pieces that suit you and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Dip the chicken pieces in the batter, then coat them in the crushed flakes. Place each piece on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Finally, drizzle your nuggets with a small amount of oil.
- Place the sheet in an oven preheated to 390°F. Bake for about 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!
