Home remedies that make toilet seats shine
Cleaning the toilet seat is not the most pleasant activity. However, it is necessary because bacteria accumulate on it. Two products you have at home can handle yellow stains and streaks.
The surface of the toilet seat tends to develop stains and streaks despite regular cleaning with detergents. Unfortunately, not all bathroom cleaners can tackle these stains effectively. However, there's a home remedy that costs just a few dollars. These two products will renew your toilet seat in no time.
How to clean the toilet seat
If your toilet seat has stains and streaks, you don’t need to buy unique and expensive chemical detergents. All you need are products you probably already have at home: toothpaste and citric acid.
Mix toothpaste and citric acid together. Apply the resulting mixture to the most significant stains on the seat and leave it for about 30 minutes. After that time, scrub the entire toilet seat thoroughly and wipe it dry.
Attention! When cleaning the toilet seat, it’s best to use regular, white, inexpensive toothpaste. Avoid using black toothpaste with added charcoal.
This product will handle a yellow toilet seat
Another effective method for cleaning the toilet seat and getting rid of yellow stains is using a trick with shaving foam. Apply the foam to all dirty areas and wait at least half an hour. Then, carefully wipe the seat with a cloth. And it's done!
Why are these methods the best? Citric acid removes yellow stains and streaks very well. Similarly, toothpaste handles dirt on such surfaces. Shaving foam contains ingredients that tackle deposits and even limescale. It can also be used to clean other areas, like faucets.
