Many floor panel owners struggle with streaks that appear after cleaning, often caused by excess water and unsuitable cleaning agents. While panels are resistant, they don't tolerate excess moisture well, which can lead to stains and warping. Therefore, it's important to use minimal water.

Regular floor cleaners can also leave residues that show up as streaks once dried. Thus, it's beneficial to use tried-and-true home methods that not only clean effectively but also protect the panel surface.

Home methods for shiny panels

One of the best yet lesser-known methods is to use a dishwasher tablet. Drop one dishwasher tablet into 0.8 gallons of warm water and wait for it to dissolve. Dip a mop cloth into the solution and clean the panels, ensuring you wring out excess water thoroughly beforehand.

One of the more popular methods is using vinegar. Thanks to its polishing and descaling properties, vinegar helps panels regain their former shine. Mix half a cup of vinegar with two cups of water and two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply the prepared solution with a spray bottle and gently wipe with a microfiber cloth.

Rules for maintaining and daily hygiene of panels

To keep panels shiny for years, proper maintenance is essential. Regular vacuuming is key. Removing dust and dirt before cleaning helps prevent streak formation. It's always beneficial to use soft microfiber cloths, which effectively collect dirt without scratching the surface.

The cleaning technique also greatly affects the final outcome. It's best to clean the panels piece by piece, along their lines, to avoid unsightly stains. In areas prone to more dirt, it's advisable to clean the panels more frequently, rather than waiting for the dirt to become more visible. This way, your panels will maintain a like-new appearance.
