Channing Tatum (44) and Zoë Kravitz (35) chose to part ways following the promotion of "Blink Twice," a film directed by Kravitz. A source quoted by Page Six revealed that the couple discovered differing expectations for their futures.
"Ultimately, once the project ended, they realized they were on different pages with what they wanted," shared a member of Tatum's entourage. "It fizzled fast after their press tour wrapped."
Relationship history
The actors met in 2021 while working on the psychological thriller "Blink Twice," with Kravitz serving as the director and Tatum as the lead actor. They became engaged two years later. The couple promoted the film together before its August premiere, exchanging compliments in interviews.
"[Kravitz] and Channing are opposites, but they always bonded over their love for art and film, and that is what held them together," added the source. Wedding planning, however, turned out to be overwhelming for them. "'Wedding plans were looming, but neither of them were rushing to the altar,' the source said, adding the process put 'a lot of pressure on them' and made them 'rethink' the whole thing," reports PageSix.
After her divorce from Karl Glusman in 2021, with whom she had been married since 2019, Zoë Kravitz became more independent. "After her divorce, she expressed that she didn’t necessarily need to get married again," the source emphasized.
Channing Tatum, previously married to Jenna Dewan for nearly a decade (their divorce was finalized in September 2024, six years after they announced their separation), has an 11-year-old daughter, Everly, with her. He was also cautious about remarrying, though he felt he could have a family with Zoë. Kravitz, however, was mainly focused on her career.
'Ultimately, they realized it wouldn't work. "They were looking at the long-term bigger picture and realized they may not be a good match. There is still a lot of love between them, and [the split] was amicable." Interestingly, nearly two months ago, on September 3rd, Tatum posted a photo with Kravitz, captioning it with a statement about being "together forever."
Despite ending their relationship, the couple remains on good terms and will soon appear together in the upcoming science fiction comedy "Alpha Gang." Neither Kravitz nor Tatum has publicly commented on the breakup, but the actress, known for her role in the movie "Batman," was spotted without her 7-carat engagement ring, seemingly confirming the reports.
