Backyard pools remain very popular. Nowadays, you can even buy them at supermarkets. Depending on the size, you can spend from $100 to even $2000. It's a fantastic alternative to a traditional pool but has some drawbacks.
It can take several hours to more than a dozen hours before the water gets warm. Many people decide to buy a water heater, but this involves a significant expense. However, there is a much cheaper way.
Cover it with a hula hoop. The water will heat up faster
Buying a pool is just the beginning of the adventure. First, you have to set it up, fill it with water, and wait for it to get warm. This process can take more than a dozen hours to several dozen hours. Sometimes, it can even take a few days.
Many people decide to buy an electric water heater. The device costs from $100 to even $300. However, there is an alternative method that is much cheaper. You only need three things: a hula hoop, a pool noodle, and a large black trash bag.
How to do it? Cut the pool noodle into four equal parts. Use a knife to cut a deep slit on one side. Place them on the hula hoop and attach them with tape. Stretch the trash bag over the hoop as tightly as possible.
Place this makeshift heater in the center of the pool. The black bag will "attract" sunlight, accelerating the water heat. If time is of the essence, use several heaters. After a few hours, the water will be pleasantly warm.
How to clean the pool?
The water in the pool needs to be changed regularly. Over time, it gets dirty and starts to cloud. However, there is a way to clean it without refilling the pool.
How do you clean pool water? Get some pure ascorbic acid. You can buy it at any pharmacy. You need 2 ounces of acid for every cubic meter of water. Add it directly to the pool and wait a while. After several minutes, you will notice that the water becomes crystal clear.
