He supported Hamas. Now he's heavily justifying himself

After Hamas attacked Israel, the conflict in the Middle East flared up again. Bayern Munich footballer Noussair Mazraoui posted a video in which he supported the Palestinian side. There was uproar in Germany. One of the politicians is demanding that the Moroccan be expelled from the country. The footballer spoke up again.

On October 7th, Israel was attacked by Hamas. The fighters of the organization recognized as terrorist by the European Union and the USA infiltrated cities in southern Israel. This was preceded by a massive rocket attack. As a result of Hamas' actions, over 1300 people were killed, mainly civilians.

The conflict in the Middle East has flared up again. Israel has already taken retaliatory action, announces a "deadly" attack on the Gaza Strip, as well as an attempt to rescue hostages kidnapped by Hamas.

These events are widely discussed around the world, including by famous athletes who are taking positions on both sides of the conflict. There's been a lot of recent chatter about what Noussair Mazraoui did. The Bayern Munich defender backed Hamas actions by posting a video containing a quote from the Quran (we publish it below).

And do not think that Allah is unaware of what the unjust do. He only delays them until a day when their eyes will freeze in terror.

After this recording, things got heated in Germany. There were voices insisting that a player from Morocco should be sidelined from the first team. CDU politician Johannes Steiniger even took it a step further.

Dear Bayern, please immediately throw him out. Moreover, all state options should be utilized to expel him from Germany - Steiniger wrote on the "X" portal.

Seeing what it led to, Mazraoui spoke up again. He issued a statement which he sent to German editors - including "Bilda". That's how he explains his behavior.

First and foremost, I would like to say that it's really disappointing that I have to explain what I stand for. Situations occur where thousands of innocent people are getting killed. My position is that I will always act in favor of peace and justice in this world. This means that I will always oppose any forms of terrorism, hatred, and violence. And this is something I will always stand for - he declared.

The representative from Morocco claims that the conflict in the Middle East has gotten out of control.

That's why I don't understand why people think the opposite of me and why I'm associated with hate-spreading groups. Today, it's not about what I think or what you think. Innocent people die every day in this terrible conflict that has gotten out of control. We should all be against it and speak out against it. It's simply inhumane - Mazraoui added.

Bayern Munich has not yet taken a position on Mazraoui's statement. The player is currently in a Moroccan national team camp. He played a friendly match against the Ivory Coast on Saturday.
