Confusion surrounding the words of Web Summit's CEO, Paddy Cosgrave. Cosgrave resigns from his position after commenting on the conflict between Israel and terrorists from the Hamas organization. The Irishman, creator of the popular conference, suggested that Israel is committing war crimes against the Palestinians.

The CEO of the international conference dedicated to technology, Web Summit, has resigned from his position - reports AP.

Confusion around the words of Web Summit CEO

Paddy Cosgrave has resigned due to his statements, which were alleged to suggest that Israel is committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip during operations against Hamas. The event, despite the confusion, is set to take place as planned in November in Lisbon.

A Web Summit spokesperson, in a statement sent to The Associated Press, said that a new general manager has been appointed and the conference will take place next month in Lisbon as planned - I read in the AP dispatch.

Irish entrepreneur Paddy Cosgrave, who is also the founder of Web Summit, said that his private comments "diverted attention from the event, our team, our sponsors, our startups and the people who participate in it".

Once again, I sincerely apologize for any harm I have caused - said Cosgrave, quoted by AP.
