David Schwimmer, famously known for his role as paleontologist Ross Geller in the sitcom "Friends", hasn't faced as many divorces in his personal life as his on-screen character. However, he is still in search of genuine love, considering his past relationships have led to breakups.

David Schwimmer celebrated his 57th birthday on November 2, 2023. Thanks to his role in "Friends", the actor gained global fame. The character Ross Geller, was beloved by many. So, how has Schwimmer's personal life unfolded over the years? As it turns out, similar to his character from "Friends", Schwimmer often put work before everything else, leading often to breakups. Despite this, he cherishes his daughter dearly.

A string of affairs, followed by marriage

In the 90s, David Schwimmer was romantically involved with actress Patrice Jennings from the popular series 'Beverly Hills, 90210'. There were also whispers about his relationship with model Brandi Glanville. Subsequently, he dated Sarah Trimble. Their two-year relationship concluded due to a dramatic reason: Trimble, a lawyer, struggled with the incessant media scrutiny due to Schwimmer's popularity.

In 1996, he was dating Natalie Imbruglia. The singer and model, just like Schwimmer, placed a high value on her work, which led to their relationship's downfall. Later, he dated Mili Avital. He met the Israeli actress on the set of the film ‘Six Days, Seven Nights’. The two split up eight months after Schwimmer's proposal. A heartbroken Schwimmer confessed in an interview that Avital was the woman he truly loved, but he realized it too late.

Before meeting his future wife, he also had relationships with Carla Alapont, Tina Barrett, Gina Lee, and Minnie Driver. He met his future wife, whom he married in 2007.

He believed she was his soulmate. Marriage undone by "the other woman"

David Schwimmer and Zoe Buckman crossed paths in a London club, where Buckman was working as a waitress. Schwimmer reportedly experienced love at first sight. The couple got engaged in March 2010 and tied the knot merely two months later. Their daughter, Cleo, was born the following year. Unfortunately, their marital bliss was short-lived.

In 2017, Schwimmer and Buckman announced their divorce, attributed to Schwimmer's workaholic nature. The actor was reportedly more immersed in pursuing new film and TV projects than in maintaining his family life. Despite their separation, David and Zoe reportedly remain good friends and co-parent their 12-year-old daughter.
