The revelations, though cautiously reported, come from the World of Reel. Apparently, discussions at Sony are underway about a continuation of the 1997 hit film, or possibly just a remake. Naturally, during these discussions, the name Ford, who is now 82 years old, is mentioned.

The potential director for this possible project is not yet identified. Is there much truth to these rumors? It seems so. The 2024 box office results show a clear trend: all top 10 positions are occupied by sequels, adaptations, or remakes. Major film studios prefer to invest in proven titles, the ones audiences are already familiar with. So, they might even bring back the 82-year-old Ford to draw crowds to theaters. Thirty years ago, "Air Force One" grossed 315 million dollars, nearly four times its budget.

"Air Force One": what is the film with Harrison Ford about?

After concluding an official visit to Russia, U.S. President James Marshall delivers a speech asserting that his country will never negotiate with terrorists again, suggesting their days are numbered. Onboard the U.S. presidential plane, Air Force One, departing from a Moscow airport, a group of terrorists posing as Russian journalists gains access. Their leader, Ivan Korshunov, a fanatic dedicated to Russia, portrayed by the always intense Gary Oldman, takes control of the plane with assistance from an American special services agent sympathetic to him. The pilots of Air Force One manage to land at a military airport in Germany but are killed by the terrorists, who then take off again. President Marshall hides, leading everyone to believe he escaped using the escape pod. Korshunov then contacts the Vice President of the USA.
