Their leader, Ivan Korshunov, a fanatic dedicated to Russia, portrayed by the always intense Gary Oldman, takes control of the plane with assistance from an American special services agent sympathetic to him. The pilots of Air Force One manage to land at a military airport in Germany but are killed by the terrorists, who then take off again. President Marshall hides, leading everyone to believe he escaped using the escape pod. Korshunov then contacts the Vice President of the USA.
