Kamala Harris, officially chosen by the delegates at the Democratic Party convention on Monday as the party's presidential candidate, introduced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice-presidential candidate during a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Harris, who is running for the highest office in the country, declared to the cheering crowds that she was looking for a "a partner who can help unite our nation and move us forward—a fighter for the middle class and patriot who believes in the promise of America."

Harris pointed out that although they both come from different corners of this great country, they share the same values. She listed Walz's professional achievements as a high school teacher and football coach.

Harris assures of acting "on behalf of all Americans"

She also said that pairing Walz with Senator J.D. Vance, chosen by Republican Donald Trump as a vice-presidential candidate, is "like pairing the first team with the reserve."

Pennsylvania, along with Wisconsin and Michigan, belongs to the key states whose electorate is undecided on whom to entrust the helm of the country. Therefore, to win them over, U.S. presidential candidates devote a lot of attention to the local communities.

Walz strikes at Trump and Vance

Referring to the ongoing intense election campaign, Walz said: "We have 91 days. God, that's easy. We'll sleep when we die."

He said he is proud that Harris chose him as a vice-presidential candidate.

Walz emphasized that J.D. Vance shares "Trump's dangerous and backward agenda".

- I can't wait to debate JD Vance. That is, if he's willing to get off the couch and show up - said Walz about Trump's vice-presidential candidate.

Both Harris and Walz, referring to the former president's views, said, "We are not going back." In this way, they alluded to Donald Trump’s radical views and solutions, which, in their opinion, would set America back.

During and shortly after the rally, many videos appeared online. "This is about centering education, working people, real freedom and love" - writes Congressman Jamaal Bowman.
