Harris edges out Trump in tight Nevada poll race

Three days before the elections in the United States, the candidates are running almost "neck and neck" in the polls. Results from one of the key states, Nevada, have just been published. Kamala Harris holds a slight lead over Donald Trump.

As the presidential elections approach, representatives from both campaigns express confidence. Democrats are banking on the voting power of women and their well-organized election machinery, while Republicans are focusing on the resonance of immigration issues and the perceived mistakes of their opponents.

Meanwhile, a new poll has been released. The survey was conducted in a crucial state, Nevada.

Harris ahead of Trump, but the lead is symbolic

According to the new Emerson College Polling/RealClearWorld survey, 48 percent of voters support Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, while 47 percent support former President Donald Trump.

Two percent remain undecided, and one percent do not plan to vote for either candidate.

After accounting for undecided voters, overall support for Harris increases to 49 percent, while support for Trump rises to 48 percent.

Women versus men

"Men and women in Nevada are heading in almost opposite directions," said Spencer Kimball, Executive Director of Emerson College Polling.

It turns out that 52 percent of men support the Republican candidate, while 43 percent back the Democratic candidate. Conversely, among women, 52 percent plan to vote for Kamala Harris, while 44 percent support Donald Trump.

What do voters want?

The poll also asked residents what factors guide their choice of president. For 40 percent of Nevada voters, the economy is the most important issue, followed by housing affordability (13 percent), immigration (12 percent), threats to democracy (9 percent), and education (9 percent).

Interestingly, just over half—54 percent—disapprove of the job Joe Biden is doing as president, while 36 percent are satisfied.
