Khalil Al-Hayya shared the information during a press conference held in Tehran.
He stated that for now, we know that the windows, doors, and walls of the room where Haniyeh was were destroyed. However, he does not view the assassination of Haniyeh as "an achievement" because he was a public figure and did not operate in hiding, as reported by Lebanese television, Al Manar.
Meanwhile, Iranian journalist and political analyst Jamshid Barzegar told the expatriate portal Iran International that publicizing Haniyeh's travel to Tehran in real time may have helped those who wanted to attack him.
Haniyeh eliminated
After the attack on October 7, Haniyeh traveled to Tehran several times. During all these previous trips, news of his presence in Tehran and meetings was published a few days after the trip. The disclosure of this news, contrary to previous practice, slightly facilitated the situation for Israel.
Haniyeh, who lives in Qatar daily, was in the Iranian capital for the inauguration of Masoud Pezeszkian, the country's new president.
