Haley and Cody’s love story: From ghosting to the happiest ending

Haley shared a story on TikTok about how she met her partner. Filmmakers and TV series creators might be willing to go to great lengths for the rights to her story.
If you think your relationship story is romantic and unique—it surely is, but you likely don't stand a chance of competing with Haley and Cody. This American couple has been through twists and turns that could easily be transferred to the big screen (maybe it will one day?).
She decided to share on TikTok how she met her current partner. Her story starts quite innocently. She mentions she went on vacation to Hawaii, where she met Cody in one of the bars. It turned out that they lived in the same city in California. They quickly connected, spent a few days together on the islands, and decided to keep in touch. They had more time together in California before they had to part ways—Cody was leaving for a European trip. Haley drove him to the airport, but they kept in touch while he was abroad, chatting, exchanging messages, and talking on FaceTime. True feelings began to develop in her. Around this time, things started to get complicated.

When Haley realized she genuinely felt something for Cody, he stopped responding. At first, she didn't bother him—she thought he might be busy traveling, had decided to extend his vacation, or was having too much fun. She sent him several messages to check if he was okay but received no reply. She vented to her friends, who said he intentionally ignored her and advised her to move on. However, Haley couldn't get Cody out of her mind and started her investigation. She found his sister on Instagram, who had a link to a crowdfunding campaign in her bio. Curious, she decided to check what the girl needed money for, and it turned out that Cody had an accident, fell into a coma, and the family was raising funds for expensive treatment. Doesn't this sound like a rom-com script?
Haley explained that she donated some money to the campaign "because what else could she do?" and that she had no news for the next few months. She added that she had only dated Cody briefly; they were not officially a couple, and she didn't know his family, so she wanted to give them space to deal with his condition.
Romantic comedies (more often than real life) tend to have happy endings. And that's exactly what happened with Haley and Cody. After a few months, he suddenly and unexpectedly... responded to her messages. They started talking again—completely platonically—and after a year and a half, they officially became a couple and had "the healthiest relationship in the world."
It's also worth mentioning that Cody completely forgot about Haley. Because of the brain injury he suffered, he had absolutely no memory of her or what they had experienced together. They had to get to know each other again, and he fell in love with the same girl for a second time. To say they were made for each other is an understatement.
