At the Grammy 2025 ceremony, which took place on February 2, Chris Martin from Coldplay honored the late Liam Payne. During the "In Memoriam" segment, other deceased stars, such as Cissy Houston, Wayne Osmond, Kris Kristofferson, and Dickey Betts, were mentioned. Earlier in the evening, Quincy Jones, who passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 91, was honored. Stevie Wonder and other artists honored his musical legacy.

The Grammy 2025 ceremony also provided an opportunity to show solidarity with the victims of the fires in Los Angeles on January 7, 2025. The disaster killed 29 people, and thousands lost their homes. The Recording Academy and MusiCare's Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort initiated a fundraiser to help those affected.

Controversies were not absent either. The social elite, including Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori, attended the gala. The Australian initially appeared on the red carpet wearing a coat, then removed it to reveal her nude body. According to foreign media reports, the couple was said to have been removed from the event.
