The website TechRadar notes that Google Maps' interface has been slightly improved again. This time, the updates concern pins representing public utility objects on the map. They have been refreshed and "rounded" with new shadows to better match the application.
It appears that Google Maps changes are being rolled out in batches, not only to different users but even within a single account. While browsing various locations, you can find both "new" and "old" pins on the map. Standardizing them is likely a matter of time.
The new pins, which now more closely resemble round symbols, better fit into the other graphics used in Google Maps to mark places, such as those saved to visit in the future. The older graphic design of the pins stood out from the others and gave the impression of not fitting with the whole group. Techradar suggests that Google Maps is now more coherent in this regard.
The new pin symbols are not the first visual change in Google Maps recently. The application's bottom navigation bar was also changed relatively recently and simplified to three buttons. A few months earlier, Google Maps enthusiasts expressed their opinions about the first significant change in the color scheme of the entire interface in history.
