Despite waking up from the coma, Derek Draper continued facing significant health complications. After recovering from COVID-19, he now battles inflammation in the brain, along with damage to the lungs, kidneys, heart, and liver. To this day, he is unable to operate normally.

For a period, Derek appeared to feel remarkably better. As reported by "Daily Mail", he was in high spirits and eagerly anticipated the family holidays. However, two weeks before Christmas, his ailments resurfaced. This time, Kate Garraway's husband suffered a heart attack and was readmitted to the hospital.

The Daily Mail indicates that the 56-year-old host of "Good Morning Britain" has vigilantly stayed by her husband's bedside 24/7. Insiders say she fervently hopes for her husband to win his next battle for life. Derek's family, meanwhile, is praying for his recovery.
