The technical disruptions extended to outlets in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China as well.
McDonald’s Poland's press office conveyed that the closures in our country were also a result of this technology-related issue. Fortunately, all affected restaurants are now back in operation.
In their communication with Business Insider Poland, McDonald's expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to customers.
"The issue was not linked to cybersecurity threats but stemmed from a software configuration change by one of our external providers. We are diligently collaborating with the countries still facing disruptions," Business Insider Poland reports, citing the statement.
There are over 40,000 McDonald's restaurants operating worldwide.
