Brutal riots on the streets of Albania

- During an anti-government protest organized on Monday, the parliament building in Albania's capital was pelted with Molotov cocktails. The police responded with tear gas and reported injuries to 10 officers, according to local media. The protesters demanded the release of Sali Berisha, a former president, prime minister, and leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, from house arrest. He is being detained as part of an investigation into alleged corruption.
- Tensions have reignited between Israel and Lebanon. Hezbollah, a Shiite group based in Lebanon, launched approximately 190 rockets towards Israel on Monday. At least 12 people were injured, including some in Haifa. Israel responded with airstrikes targeting key Hezbollah locations in Beirut and southern Lebanon, according to the Israeli military.
- In Mexico, violence linked to drug cartels persists. Alejandro Arcos, the mayor of Chilpancingo, the capital of Guerrero state in southern Mexico, was murdered just six days after taking office, media reported on Monday. His body was discovered in the passenger seat of a car on Sunday, and his severed head was placed on the roof of the vehicle, according to a report from the Spanish-speaking BBC station.
