Glen Powell says his acting in "Hidden Figures" made him sick

The ability to critically assess one's talent or lack thereof is an extremely rare trait in Hollywood. However, a star recently admitted in an interview that his acting was so bad once that it made him feel physically ill just watching it on screen.

Glen Powell is a 35-year-old actor with extensive experience on film sets. He began acting as a teenager, and his filmography includes hits like "Spy Kids" and "The Dark Knight Rises." He notably caught viewers' attention in "Top Gun: Maverick," where he played Lieutenant Seresin. However, his rise to fame truly accelerated with "Set It Up," a romantic comedy in which he starred alongside Sydney Sweeney. In his latest interview, Powell reflects on another project, "Hidden Figures" from 2016, expressing severe dissatisfaction with his performance.

"I remember watching Hidden Figures for the first time, and that’s a movie that’s, like, an incredible Oscar-nominated movie, and I remember watching it for the first time on the Fox lot. This is before all the effects were done, the music was in, sound design — I literally left the movie, and I puked in the bushes. I thought I ruined this movie," he said on the podcast "Therapuss with Jake Shane."
"I was like, all these women put in these great performances, and it’s the legacy of these women. I was like, I literally ruined this movie. I literally walked out; I was like, oh my god."

"Hidden Figures" is an extraordinary, previously unknown true story of three brilliant African-American women who worked for NASA in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Overcoming unimaginable social and cultural obstacles, they helped send the first American, astronaut John Glenn, into space, thus initiating the space race between global superpowers.

The leading roles were played by Oscar-nominated Taraji P. Henson ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"), Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer ("The Help"), Janelle Monáe, Kirsten Dunst ("Spider-Man"), Jim Parsons (TV series "The Big Bang Theory"), and Oscar-winner Kevin Costner ("Dances with Wolves"). Glen Powell portrayed the astronaut being sent into space.

"Hidden Figures" received three Oscar nominations and garnered positive reviews from critics and viewers. However, it is difficult to find any mention of Powell's admittedly terrible acting performance. Do you remember him in that film? You can watch a clip below; the movie is available on Disney+.
