It's best to use homemade gingerbread spice, which also works well for baking or warming tea. When selecting a ready-made mix from the store, pay attention to its ingredients. It should consist solely of spices, without fillers like flour or starch.

Ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons of oats,
  • 1 package of skyr yogurt,
  • half a teaspoon of gingerbread spice,
  • half a teaspoon of cocoa,
  • an orange or tangerines,
  • favorite nuts,
  • honey to taste.

Instructions:

  1. Place the oats, cocoa, and gingerbread spice in a pot. Add water—there should be twice as much water as oats.
  2. Cook until soft. If necessary, add more water.
  3. Mix with vanilla or natural skyr and honey, and transfer to a bowl.
  4. Top with filleted citrus pieces (without the peel) and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Simple gingerbread oatmeal is now ready. If you prefer an intense flavor, you can add more spices. Walnuts or pecans make excellent toppings. This oatmeal tastes great both hot and cold. Enjoy!
