Seas and oceans naturally evoke fear in people. The deep, dark, and unexplored waters cause anxiety, similar to the creatures that inhabit them. We're talking about sharks with massive teeth, orcas, stonefish, and sea snakes.

The footage that leaked online serves as a stark warning about aquatic creatures. It captures the moment a giant sturgeon attacks a Russian synchronized swimmer identified as 22-year-old Masha.

This frightening event occurred in China at the aquarium in Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park. The attack unfolded in front of shocked visitors, including children.

Dramatic scenes as mermaid escapes fish's jaws

Masha, dressed as a mermaid, was performing at the Chinese aquarium when she unexpectedly became the victim of a large sturgeon's attack. The fish grabbed her by the head, nearly engulfing her entire head in its large jaws. The swimmer managed to break free from the predator. Although the sturgeon took her goggles, she was able to swim to the surface using her own strength.

Russian media released photos of her bruised face. Masha suffered extensive head, neck, and eye injuries. Unofficial reports suggest that the event organizer offered her financial compensation of approximately $98. The video was never intended to be shared online.
