Artificial intelligence is making its way into every industry, including tourism. Now, the German tourism sector is harnessing the power of AI as well.

A new development in the German tourism industry

"I'm Emma, and I'm an AI travel influencer for the German National Tourist Board. There, I take you on exciting journeys of discovery through the most beautiful corners of Germany," announced the very realistic-looking virtual woman.

Emma, the new ambassador for German tourism, stated that the country has a lot to offer. There's something for everyone, from vibrant cities and historic towns rich with monuments to breathtaking natural landscapes.

Emma’s role isn't limited to showcasing unique locations and discussing German traditions. This AI project is designed to assist all tourists, offering 24/7 accessibility. "From fascinating cities and historical places to breathtaking natural wonders - let’s go on an adventure together!" Emma says on her Instagram profile.

Internet users divided

The first video on Emma's profile garnered numerous comments. While some users were enthusiastic about the innovation, the majority expressed dissatisfaction. "It would be better to promote real people in the tourism industry rather than someone who doesn't exist and can't express an opinion. There are so many travel creators who love Germany," one commenter noted. Another added, "This is very disappointing; people want to see real individuals exploring this beautiful country." A critical comment asked, "With all due respect, what is this supposed to be? Does anyone think this is okay?"
