The looming threat of war between Russia and NATO forces is compelling alliance countries to prepare for such an eventuality. Germany has recently prepared a defense plan in case of an invasion by Putin's troops, anticipating a conflict in 2029. By then, the Kremlin could have up to 1.5 million soldiers.

A NATO war with Russia is one of the darkest scenarios that could come true in the coming years. Experts and politicians have started to point to such a possibility. This is why Poland and other Baltic countries are already heavily arming themselves. Germany is also preparing for a possible conflict with Moscow and has created a plan in case of a Russian attack in 2029.

Will Russia attack NATO? Germany has a plan

According to Carsten Breuer, Chief Inspector of the Bundeswehr, Russia could have up to 1.5 million soldiers by 2029. He indicated that this number is more than all European Union countries combined, necessitating a defense plan in case of an invasion.

Breuer believes that Germany would become the logistical center of Europe as it would have to transport troops and equipment to the East. A potential Putin attack would likely start in the Baltic states or Poland, as Breuer is convinced that "Russia will not stop in Ukraine."

German newspapers Bild and Spiegel reported that Germany had a plan in case of a Moscow attack. It is the first such document in 30 years and spans several hundred pages. It envisions that in the case of a Russian offensive, 800,000 NATO soldiers and about 200,000 weapons will pass through Germany.

The A2 highway, running from Oberhausen in the western part of the country to the Berlin bypass, will be used for transport. However, the Bundeswehr is preparing an alternative route if the A2 is destroyed.

The German military would also focus on organizing logistics - fuel, food, and medicine. Implementing the plan would likely involve blocking civilian transport in important German regions.

Germany is experiencing firsthand how Russia may try to influence the situation in the country. Russian services reportedly planned an attack on Rheinmetall defense contractor head Armin Papperger. He currently has assigned protection. This incident underscores how determined the Kremlin is to spread terror beyond Ukraine's borders.
