German politician resigns after explicit online comments scandal

Bernd Vogel, with remarkable zeal, commented on photos of erotic models on websites and social media. He frequently did so in an exceptionally crude manner, using not just direct but downright offensive descriptions of what he wished to do with the young women showcasing their looks.
The politician's indulgent lifestyle might have gone unnoticed if not for the fact that he posted all the comments from his official profile on platform X, making them accessible to all users.
For his party colleagues and potential voters, the outrage wasn't as much about the use of erotic websites but rather about the language he directed towards women much younger than himself.
After the scandal broke, Vogel posted a brief message online in which he apologized for his comments and announced his withdrawal from the elections.
