German left leader demands inquiry into Nord Stream sabotage
On Saturday, Sahra Wagenknecht, the chair of the German left-wing party BSW, called for a parliamentary inquiry committee in the Bundestag regarding the German government's involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline incidents. Wagenknecht emphasized that the committee should investigate what information the German authorities had and when they learned about the attack plans.

"If it turns out that the German authorities knew about the attack plan in advance, we will have the scandal of the century in German politics," said Wagenknecht.
"The Nord Stream sabotage was a terrorist attack on our energy supply. The fact that the German government has still not done anything to clarify the situation strengthens the suspicion that the ruling coalition was involved in the scandal," - she added.
Explosions on Nord Stream
The German media published information on Wednesday about the actions of the German Federal Prosecutor's Office, which is searching for a Ukrainian citizen suspected of sabotaging the Nord Stream pipeline two years ago and two other Ukrainians (a man and a woman) involved in the case.
On September 26, 2022, three out of four Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipes were destroyed at 260 feet below the Baltic Sea. For years, much of Russia's natural gas supply to Germany had been delivered directly through Nord Stream 1.
The alliance of Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), founded as a party at the beginning of this year, is known for its critical stance on Germany's support for Ukraine and has shown sympathy towards Russia. Wagenknecht has repeatedly expressed her pro-Russian sentiments.
