Rainer Dulger, the chairman of the German Federal Association of Employers (BDA), is sounding the alarm. He underlines how the labor shortage in Germany could negatively affect the country's prosperity.

"The labor shortage problem can no longer be fully resolved," he told the newspaper "Bild am Sonntag".

Dulger has sent signals that politicians should respond. He argues that appropriate measures need to be implemented to soften the impacts of this situation.

Dulger, the head of BDA, criticizes the government in Berlin's climate policy. He views it as damaging to the German economy.

Germany's Prosperity is at Stake

According to Dulger, the lack of skilled professionals and workers "will result in us losing prosperity in this country".

Dulger also asserted that Germany must become more appealing for workers from other countries. "What do we have to offer them? One of the most complicated languages in Europe, a disastrous housing market, slow bureaucracy, and few nursery spaces with inflexible opening hours," he said.

"We need a 'welcome culture' just like in other large immigration countries," Dulger stated.
