The George and Amal Clooney Foundation has announced actions against Russian propagandists who incite crimes in Ukraine. Now, Dmitry Medvedev has written about the actor.

Some actors support Russia, and others fight against it. Steven Seagal, involved in Russian propaganda for years, holds the title of "representative of American-Russian relations" despite the ongoing conflict. Seagal is unperturbed by Russian troops occupying Ukraine and conducting purges. In contrast, well-known figures like George Clooney and his foundation strive to prosecute Russian propagandists.

Recently, there has been information that the George and Amal Clooney Foundation aims to prosecute Russian propagandists in Europe who incite war in Ukraine and the murder of Ukrainian citizens. Andrii Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian president's office, reported this. He noted that Ukrainian politicians and activists have been cooperating with partners for a long time to hold propagandists accountable.

Yermak added that many Russian propagandists still have assets in Europe. "The McFaul-Yermak Sanctions Group has been working with our partners for a long time to ensure that Russian propagandists who are equally guilty of inciting hatred and promoting Russia's war against Ukraine are sanctioned," he said. The foundation, co-operated by George Clooney, has applied for arrest warrants for several people.

Anna Neistat, director of legal affairs at the Clooney Foundation for Justice's Docket, commented: "We are focused on bringing to justice the most obvious Russian propagandists, the most visible ones, but I will deliberately not name them because we ask prosecutors to issue gag orders," she said during the interview with "The Voice of America".

Russia has not remained passive in response. Dmitry Medvedev, once the president of the Federation and now a Kremlin spokesman, posted a mocking comment on social media platform X, emphasizing George Clooney's role as if the actor was pursuing Russian activists.

"A certain mediocre actor called George Clooney has decided to use his foundation to hunt down Russian journalists all over the world and persecute them," Medvedev wrote. "The effort would be wasted, however: our professional journalists will find him first," he threatened, referencing the horror film "From Dusk Till Dawn," starring Clooney in 1996.

In Robert Rodriguez's film, two criminals (George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino) escape to Mexico, where they end up at a roadside bar that turns out to be a vampire den.

The Clooney Foundation for Justice, established in 2016 by George and Amal Clooney, operates in 40 countries. It supports actions for refugees and war victims. In 2022, Amal Clooney stated that the foundation would help prosecute Russian crimes in Ukraine.
