Genesis reveals Vision Gran Turismo concept, set for test drive soon
Genesis has officially joined the cohort of brands boasting a virtual concept designed for a console title.
The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept, as it is fully named, is the latest creation from this Korean brand tailored for the virtual world of Gran Turismo 7. It's a striking coupe, notable for its exceptionally low roofline and unusually extended hood.
The concept vehicle also features upward-opening doors, rims secured with a central screw, and a double exhaust tip that emerges directly from the engine cover, positioned just behind the cabin. In contrast to many modern designs, the X Gran Berlinetta isn't electric. Instead, a petrol-powered V6 engine lies beneath its virtual exterior.
The engine can hit up to 10,000 rpm. With the assistance of an electric compressor and a supplementary electric engine, it produces a massive power of 1,071 horsepower and a peak torque of 986 pound-feet.
Equally impressive to the body and drive, the vehicle's interior also deserves mention. Inside the minimalist cabin, a small screen adorns the steering wheel, along with two knobs equipped with tiny screens and a few buttons on the central tunnel. The whole setup is accented with quilted leather and aluminum. If you're curious about the main screen, it comprises the entirety of the upper part of the cockpit.
More details will be unveiled firsthand in the virtual realm of Gran Turismo. The car will be added to the game via an update scheduled for early 2024.
