Futuristic McDonald's in South Korea showcases robot service
In South Korea, there's a McDonald's restaurant that seems like it's been plucked straight from the year 2050. By watching the short video posted on TikTok, you can get a glimpse into a future where customers have no contact with another person during the entire ordering process.
A video was recently posted on TikTok, filmed at a McDonald's restaurant in South Korea. A customer visited a location that resembles a scene from a science fiction movie, with completely automated service.
The ordering process is completed via a touchscreen. This method is already widely used in many McDonald's locations. However, what stands out is what happens afterwards.
The ordered meal is placed in a special box. When the customer, following the on-screen instructions, taps the glass, the lid opens, allowing the person to pick up their order.
Robots "employed" in the food industry
We can assume that this might be the future of McDonald's restaurants. Currently, orders are typically collected from an employee, and you can still request your meal to be brought to your table. In the South Korean location, the customer has no contact with the staff.
Today's consumers are increasingly open to innovation, and food service providers are introducing new solutions more frequently but reducing human interaction will certainly have an impact on our daily lives.
